Life isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your therapy shouldn’t be, either.

At Ignite Therapy of Austin, I use a personalized, holistic approach to counseling to spark change. I’ll learn your unique story, collaborate with you to develop interventions, and guide you in taking meaningful steps toward lasting change.

The Ignite Method

“Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.” -Sun Tzu

Just like there are many ways to light a fire, there are many ways to spark change. Depending on your unique goals and situation, I’ll tailor the therapeutic process to target a combination of emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Along the way, I’ll check in on what’s working, measure progress toward your goals, and adjust my interventions as needed until change has been ignited. The Ignite Method places a special emphasis on using action to drive change.

Experience the full range of emotions, learn coping strategies, and process difficult feelings in a supportive environment.

Challenge limiting beliefs, practice new ways of thinking, and expand the way you view yourself and your relationships.

Turn insight into action. Build new habits and strategies, strengthen relationships and communication, and ignite lasting change.

The Ignite Toolkit

Therapeutic models I that draw from include (but are not limited to)…

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy: recognize unhelpful thought patterns, challenge them, and practice healthier ways of thinking and responding

  • Acceptance and commitment therapy: develop skills to accept difficult emotions, clarify your values, and take action toward building a meaningful life

  • Dialectical behavioral therapy: build emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal skills to handle challenges with balance

  • Emotionally focused therapy: heal attachment wounds and build secure relationships by learning to understand, share, and respond to emotions

  • Solution-focused brief therapy: shift focus from problems to solutions by identifying strengths and taking small steps toward your goals

  • Narrative therapy: explore and reshape the stories you tell about yourself and your relationships to create new meaning and possibility

  • Strategic therapy: identify patterns that keep you stuck and learn new ways to disrupt them, leading to healthier interactions and choices

  • Structural therapy: reshape family dynamics by clarifying roles, altering boundaries, and creating more supportive family interactions
